American Dream
美國夢
An American attorney had just finished a guest lecture at a law school in Italy when an Italian lawyer approached him and asked. "Is it true that a person can fall down on a sidewalk in your country and then sue the land owners for lots of money?"
Told that it was true, the lawyer turned to his partners and started speaking rapidly in Italian. When they stopped, the American attorney asked if they wanted to go to America to practice law.
"No, no." one replied."We want to go to America and fall down on sidewalks."
一位美國律師剛結束他在意大利一所法律學校的客座演講，就有一位意大利律師走近他問：“聽說在你們國家里，一個人跌倒在人行道上，他就會起訴這塊地的所有者賠償很多錢，這是真的嗎?”
得知這是真的后，意大利律師轉向他的同行開始用意大利語快速談論起來。當他們停下來后，美國律師問他們是否想去美國做法律工作。
“不，不，”有一個人回答說，“我們要去美國跌倒在人行道上。”

My little dog can't read
我的小狗不認識字
Mrs. Brown: Oh, my dear, I have lost my precious little dog!
Mrs. Smith: But you must put an advertisement in the papers!
Mrs. Brown: It's no use, my little dog can't read.
布朗夫人：哦，親愛的，我把珍愛的小狗給丟了!
史密斯夫人：可是你該在報紙上登廣告啊!
布朗夫人：沒有用的，我的小狗不認識字。

Does the dog know the proverb,too?
“啊，我是知道，可是狗也知道嗎?
The little boy did not like the look ofthe barking dog.
"It's all right," said a gentleman, "don't be afraid. Don't you know the proverb: Barking dogs don't bite?"
"Ah, yes," answered the little boy. "I know the proverb, but does the dog know the proverb,too?"
一個小男孩非常不喜歡狗狂叫的樣子。
“沒有關系，”一位先生說，“不用害怕，你知道這條諺語嗎：‘吠狗不咬人。’”
“啊，我是知道，可是狗也知道嗎?”
